Total Surface Area = 2(lb + bh + lh)
Since the volume is 54cm³ and the ration of length, breadth and height is 2:1:1
Therefore length 2/4 x 54 = 27cm, breadth is 1/4 x 54 = 13.5cm and height is 1/4 x 54 = 13.5cm
Using the above formulae for TSA:
TSA = 2[(27x13.5) + (13.5x13.5) + (27x13.5)]
The totalsurface area = 1,822.5cm²

Solution to the Premium Question Of The Month (January, 2016)
Given that the volume of a cuboid is 54 cm3. If the length, breadth and height of the cuboid are in the ratio 2:1:1, find the total surface area of the cuboid.
Let the total length be X
:.LENGTH = 2/4 * X = X/2
BREADTH =1/4 * X = X/4
HEIGHT = 1/4 * X = X/4
But, Vol of cuboid = L*B*H
Therefore, 54cm3 = X/2 × X/4 × X/4
54cm3 = X3/32
X3 = 54cm3 ×32
X3 =1728
X=3√1728
X= 12cm
:. ACTUAL DIMENSION OF THE CUBOID IS
LENGTH = 2/4 * 12cm = 6cm
BREADTH =1/4 * 12cm = 3cm
HEIGHT = 1/4 * 13cm = 3cm
Total Surface Area of a cuboid(T.S.A)
T.S.A = 2(bh + bl + lh)
T.S.A = 2(3*3 + 3*6 + 6*3)
T.S.A = 2(9 + 18 + 18)
T.S.A = 2(45)
T.S.A = 90cm2
