Balikis wins Miss Oodua 2015

 Olatunji Olamide Balikis, a graduate of Biochemistry from Olabisi Onabanjo
University, Ago-Iwoye, Ogun State, has defeated 19 other contestants to
win the Miss Oodua 2015 Beauty Pageant which was held at Toluwalase
Cooperative Multipurpose Hall, Ile- Ife, Osun State.
Chief promoter, Olokun Festival Foundation, Chief Gani Adams, in his
remarks said that the Miss Oodua Beauty Pageant is designed to project
Oodua’s cultural values. He encouraged children to embrace the culture of
their forefathers and urged parents to make sure their wards are well
grounded in African culture because they are the leaders of tomorrow.
Commenting, Aderonke Arigbabuwo, Miss Oodua 2014 said: “I have many
reasons to thank God for my life because He has ordered my steps and I
had the privilege of meeting people and touching the lives of young people.
Arigbabuwo also admonished Balikis to make her reign worthwhile by being
prayerful, kind, patient, understandable and proactive.
Responding, the new Queen promised that her reign will impact positively
on the lives of people. Adenuga Bukola emerged first runners-up while
Olaleye Rofiat Aderinsola was the second runners-up. 
And we heard that some of are friends are happy for her because she won the car when petrol has just been reduced to 87 naira so she does not have to complain about not being able to buy fuel jare...
